Peng Nian (彭年) was a renowned Yixing pottery artisan active during the Qing Dynasty, specifically during the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods (early 19th century). He was celebrated for his exceptional craftsmanship and is considered one of the master potters of his era. Peng Nian was particularly known for his collaboration with Chen Mansheng (陳曼生), a famous scholar-official and calligrapher, creating what became known as the "Mansheng Eighteen Styles" (曼生十八式) teapots.
Peng Nian's work was characterized by elegant forms and precise execution, combining practical functionality with artistic refinement.
