The gongdao cup, also known as a tea pitcher, is used when brewing gongfu tea to distribute the tea evenly, ensuring uniform concentration and flavor throughout. This particular "Duanni Gongdao Cup" was crafted, painted, and carved by Gu Jingjiao. The cup body is round and broad, with a warm and elegant refinement. On one side of the straight neck is a duck-bill spout, while on the other side, between the rim and shoulder, a handle arcs upward—graceful and elongated, like a flying dragon drawing water. One face features a "landscape with thatched pavilion" design, while the other is inscribed with the text "Tea smoke, elegant rhyme, the sound of books—painted and carved by Jingnan Shanquan." Image and text complement each other, echoing the function of the fairness cup. The interior wall of the cup is glazed with a delicate crackle pattern in white, resembling ice just beginning to fracture—crystalline, translucent, and exquisitely beautiful.
