Lei Jingzhou's "Jin Zhi Hu" is round, full, and possesses great presence. The body, lid surface, and knob contours present a spherical, stacked appearance. The short neck is decorated with circular mouth lines, the mouth and lid fit tightly together, the curved handle and spout are well-proportioned, and the round belly stands upright with tension. The overall lines of the teapot flow smoothly and stretch gracefully, appearing dignified and elegant. ## "Yin He Yuan Zhi Hu" (Harmony-Drinking Round-Knob Teapot) The "Yin He Yuan Zhi Hu" is a work that Gu Jingzhou presented to his Taiwanese friend Mr. Song Zhesan in 1992. Gu Jingzhou personally composed the inscription and carved: "Made for Zhesan's elegant appreciation on the winter solstice of the Renshen year. Yin He, Gu Jingzhou." *Zhuangzi* says: "Without speaking, one brings harmony to others." "Yin He" means making people feel at ease, enjoying peace and happiness. The lid surface of this teapot features irregular marbled clay patterns, resembling the square hole shape of ancient bronze coins—this resulted from Gu Jingzhou's use of mixed clay materials when forming the body. After firing, he originally intended to grind it down and remake it, but then felt this was a kind of fate, just like the cross-strait friendship between Gu and Song that transcended their age difference. Thus, he allowed this work full of interesting character to become the best commemorative gift.[1] --- [1] Huang Jianliang, "Purple Clay Affinity Spanning the Sea," published in *Purple Jade Golden Sand (Ceramic Culture)*, 1999, Issue No. 69, p. 33.
