The "Xuehua Teapot" was created in the 1970s. The body of the pot is hexagonal in shape, resembling a snowflake, symbolizing the auspicious meaning of "timely snow heralds a prosperous year." The entire "Xuehua Teapot" is constructed by joining clay slabs together, requiring a total of twenty-three pieces. The body, spout, and lid are assembled from ten, six, and five clay slabs respectively, while the handle and knob are each crafted from a single clay slab. The design is primarily composed of lines and planes, dense at the top and simple at the bottom, using sparseness to set off density. From the base and body to the spout and handle, it is formed through multi-layered combinations of proportionally balanced planar sections. The lid surface and neck sections create densely arranged horizontal lines, appearing orderly, upright, and sharply angular. The "Xuehua Teapot" showcases the artistic charm of Yixing clay slab joinery technique through the variation of line thickness and plane width. The "Xuehua Teapot" is crafted with precision, achieving roundness within squareness and maintaining uprightness within fluidity. It is comfortable to hold, pours smoothly, and excels in both practical use and aesthetic appreciation.
