Gu Jingzhou, building upon the traditional semi-spherical teapot form, carried out optimization and innovation. The shoulder curves inward, and the body presents a rounded, full appearance, with a foot ring added to the base. The three-curved spout, round ear-shaped handle, and pearl-shaped knob are simple and elegant, echoing one another. The flush-fitting lid and body form a harmonious whole. The overall form is dignified and rounded, with a smooth flow of spirit and rhythm. In his later years, Gu Jingzhou organized his students to draw a large number of cross-sectional diagrams of traditional Yixing teapot forms, for the purpose of promoting Yixing pottery techniques. Among these was this "Semi-Spherical Teapot."
