### 1. Recording the Past
The dual combination of practical function and aesthetic function makes Yixing teapots an excellent medium for recording the past.
Among these are commemorations of events related to the maker, as well as inscriptions commissioned at the patron's request. Related works include "Hanjun Teapot" (1936), "Bamboo Section Teapot" (1942), "Imitation Drum Teapot" (*Seated with Fragrant Discourse*, 1946), "Gaojing Fence Teapot" (1980-1992), "Pengke Handled Teapot" (1983), and "Water Vessel" (inscribed "A ladle of water is abundant," 1992).
