## 3. Expressing Thoughts and Remembrance
Carved inscriptions on pottery not only directly embody the historical and cultural cultivation of Yixing purple clay teapot makers and participants, but also reflect the ideological dynamics of the creators. From the carved inscriptions on Gu Jingzhou's purple clay works, it is not difficult to discern the evolution of his thoughts and sentiments. As Gu Jingzhou's life experience and artistic realm grew broader and deeper, approaching a state of transformation, his works' forms and content became filled with scholarly refinement.
| Work Title | Creation Period | Inscription |
|------------|----------------|-------------|
| Large Stone Gourd Pot (Press-fit lid) | 1940s | The pure heart remains |
| Large Stone Gourd Pot (Press-fit lid) | 1940s | Bright moon shines through the pines, clear spring flows over stones |
| Imitation Drum Ruyi Pot | Summer 1943 | Mountains can be carved, clay can be sculpted. As Dongpo said: "Here lies joy" |
| This Joy Handled Pot | 1944 | Noble and lofty like Lu Yu, smelling fragrance, the carriage stops of its own accord. You too are a carefree wanderer, what joy lies within the bamboo grove? For you I pour a cup, singing wildly the Bamboo Branch song |
| Crescent Moon Pot | 1948 | Cold rises from the green moss, shadows enter the palace screen. Without guests, the day is quiet; with wind, the night is cool throughout |
| — | 1955 | Only moved by the pure breeze, how could one know the child's heart? |
| — | 1970s | Fierce-browed, I coolly defy a thousand pointing fingers; head bowed, like a willing ox I serve the children[1] |
| Natural Joy Pot | 1987 | Nurturing a hundred flowers, only dawn dew suffices; giving birth to all things, it is the spring wind |
| — | Late 1980s | Gentle breezes lead the flowing clouds |
