## 1990 In March, before the Second China Yixing Pottery Art Festival, the Yixing Pottery Exhibition Hall was burglarized. All forty-one pieces from twelve sets of Gu Jingzhou's purple clay works were stolen. He supervised Zhou Guizhen, Gu Shaopei, and others in creating replicas, stamping "Jingzhou" seal marks on the bottom of the works and signing them "Supervised by Jingzhou." In December, *Teapot Connoisseurship - 10th Anniversary Edition* was published in Hong Kong. Gu Jingzhou published the article "A Brief Discussion on the Appreciation of Purple Clay Ceramic Art." He served as artistic consultant for the centennial birthday celebration of Mr. Feng Qiyong and inscribed a dedication. Collaborated with Fan Zeng on the "Imitation Drum Teapot"; restored the "Herald of Spring Teapot" (calligraphy by Tang Yun, carving by Shen Juchu). ## 1991 In [month not specified], the Dingshu Town People's Government held an inaugural meeting at the Pottery Capital Cinema for the "Gu Jingzhou Education / Xu Handang Children's Reward Fund." Gu Jingzhou donated four teapots (two "Gong Chun Teapots" and two "Monk's Hat Teapots"). The China Pottery Import and Export Company provided funding on his behalf, raising 200,000 yuan in charitable donations. Combined with Xu Handang's donation of 100,000 yuan, the funds were used to reward teachers who achieved significant accomplishments in primary, secondary, and preschool education, municipal-level and above "Three Goods" students[1], and winners of various competitions. The "Exhibition of Works by Famous Chinese Yixing Purple Clay Ceramic Artists" opened in Singapore, featuring over three hundred masterpieces and renowned works. In the same month, Hong Kong Commercial Press published *Purple Clay Teapots - Contemporary Chinese Purple Clay Art Collection Volume 6*. Gu Jingzhou published the article "Tracing Origins and Discussing Art - On the Integration of Literati, Calligraphy and Painting Circles with Purple Clay Art." For the writing of *Appreciation of Yixing Purple Clay Treasures*, Gu Jingzhou led Xu Xiudang and Li Changhong in conducting field investigations of ancient kiln sites in Yixing. --- [1] "Three Goods" students refers to students who excel in morality, academics, and physical fitness - a designation in the Chinese education system.
