## 1994 October: At the "Journey to Jinling" '94 Autumn Calligraphy, Painting, and Ceramics Fine Art Auction in Nanjing, Gu Jingzhou's "Lotus Auspiciousness" teapot sold for 220,000 RMB. Taiwan's documentary series *Contemporary Zisha Masters* began filming, featuring Gu Jingzhou, Jiang Rong, and others. For Ge Taozhong's "Fan Teapot," inscribed: "Purging turbidity and promoting clarity / Bronze courage and iron astringency are unsuitable for fruit, loving this lane's depth and breadth" (carved by Chen Fengmei). For Zhao Jianghua's "Sand Vessel Teapot," inscribed: "Longing / Freshly picked fragrant buds like eagle beaks, the old gentleman sealed and sent to the immortal's home. Now there is also the Xiangjiang moon, illuminating piles of flowers filling the tea" (carved by Chen Fengmei). ## 1995 Appointed as a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Culture and History. August: Shelley Drake Hawkes, Director of Asian Art at the Art Institute of Chicago, and Lai Suk-yee from the Chinese University of Hong Kong visited Gu Jingzhou. ## 1996 June 3: Passed away at Yixing First People's Hospital at the age of 81. June 7: The Yixing Zisha Pottery Factory held a memorial service for Gu Jingzhou. Nearly a thousand people attended, including leaders from Wuxi and Yixing municipalities, leaders of the Yixing Ceramics Group Company, and colleagues from the arts and crafts community.
