In 1993, he collaborated with Japanese ceramic artist Mr. Takahashi Hiroshi to establish Changle Hong Ceramics Co., Ltd. His works have won awards at numerous exhibitions both domestically and internationally, and have been collected by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum in the United Kingdom, the Royal Museums of Belgium, as well as the Palace Museum, the Nanjing Museum, and the Shanghai Museum in China. In 1993, with Gu Jingzhou as chief editor and Xu Xiutang and Li Changhong as associate editors, *Appreciation of Yixing Purple Clay Treasures* was published by Hong Kong Joint Publishing Company. In 1998, his personal monograph *Chinese Purple Clay* was published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. In 2000, *Xu Xiutang's Purple Clay Ceramic Art Collection* was published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. In 2000, he served as chief editor of the *Yixing Purple Clay Culture Series* and authored *Yixing Purple Clay Treasures*, published by Zhejiang Photography Publishing House. The "Tall Well Fence" teapot that Gu Jingzhou gave to Tang Yun in 1980, the "Square Small Qianjian Basin" given to Gu Guodong in 1983, and the "Large Stone Gourd Teapot" (commissioned by Yang Gufang) created for the second time in 1995 were all completed with decorative assistance from Xu Xiutang. Tan Zhuhai, Chinese Master of Arts and Crafts, was born in 1939 in Heqiao Town, Yixing, Jiangsu. In 1958, he entered the Purple Clay Craft Factory and studied purple clay carving and decoration under the veteran artisan Ren Tuting. In 1975, he entered the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts.
